Further to the success of Africa Day 2008 and 2009, DHR Communications is once again project managing Irish Aid’s flagship Africa Day events this year. Details of the events are as follows:
1. Africa Day Dublin will take place in the Iveagh Gardens (just off Harcourt Street), Dublin 2 on Sunday, 16th May
2. Africa Day Limerick will take place in the grounds of Limerick City Hall, Merchant’s Quay, Limerick on Sunday, 23rd May
We are currently sourcing volunteers and content-providers to ensure that both of these events are as successful as they have been in previous years.
We need volunteers in both Dublin and Limerick to assist with setting up the venue and contributing to the smooth running of the event on the day itself. We also need volunteers to assist with distributing promotional materials about Africa Day 2010 in the weeks leading up to the two flagship events. All volunteers will receive full training and support from DHR Communications and Irish Aid.
We are currently sourcing content for the African Bazaar section of the event, in which the cultures and customs of various African countries will be celebrated and showcased. In addition to groups that represent African countries, we are also looking for drummers, dancers, singers and groups that can provide educational activities; children’s games and play activities, and any other relevant content.
If you would like to get involved in either – or both – of these flagship Africa Day events, please contact DHR Communications (firstname.lastname@example.org / 01-4885808) and we will send you the relevant application form for you to fill out. Please note that only organisations whose application forms have been approved by DHR Communications and Irish Aid will be eligible to participate in the flagship Africa Day events.
