DHR Communications to Host Marriage Equality Fundraiser

– Former Government Minister Pat Carey to Speak at Event –

Former Minister Pat Carey will provide the keynote address at a fundraising event for the ‘Yes Equality’ campaign which will take place today (20th March) at 6.30pm in the Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, Chancery Lane, Dublin 8.

The fundraising event is being organised by the staff of DHR Communications where Pat Carey works as a consultant.

All donations received at the event will go to Yes Equality, an independent nationwide civic society campaign working to secure a ‘yes’ vote in the marriage equality referendum on 22nd May.  The Yes Equality campaign has been established by The Gay and Lesbian Equality Network (GLEN); the Irish Council for Civil Liberties (ICCL); and Marriage Equality.

DHR Communications is one of Dublin’s leading PR agencies and was founded in 2004 by Catherine Heaney. Today, DHR boasts a diverse client base in the areas of statutory agencies, not-for-profit, technology, healthcare, business, education and the arts. The agency provides PR and public affairs campaigns that reach EU, UN and wider levels for clients with an international focus. At the same time, it works with national and community organisations to deliver targeted regional and sectoral campaigns.

Ahead of tonight’s fundraiser, Catherine Heaney, Managing Director of DHR said: “We have worked on game-changing campaigns and delivered really successful events. We have enabled organisations and individuals to maximise their impact through effective communications. We are pleased to contribute to this campaign through our collective personal efforts in mobilising tonight’s fundraiser.”

According to Pat Carey: “The upcoming referendum offers the people of Ireland a chance to make their country a more equal place, in which lesbian and gay couples can get married and have the same status under our Constitution as everyone else.  Support to get it over the line is vital at this stage.”
