Pennie McGonagle

Junior Account Executive

Pennie McGonagle is a Junior Account Executive at DHR Communications.

Pennie started working with DHR in January 2017 on an internship programme and officially joined the team in April 2017.

Pennie supports a broad range of client accounts including the National College of Art and Design, An Foras Pátránachta, the Mary Raftery Journalism Fund, Threshold and Dublin’s Culture Connects. Her main duties include social media management of client accounts, project research and event management support, drafting and issuing press materials, collating media coverage and updating media lists.

She specialises in digital media and is experienced in creating digital content, while she is responsible for the curation of DHR’s social media accounts. Having trained in various aspects of media production, she provides support for DHR’s media training workshops and is highly competent in the post-production process.

Pennie is passionate about all aspects of media communications and she recently graduated from DCU with a high 2.1 BA in Communication Studies. The diverse structure of the course equipped her with the skillset necessary to undertake any complex challenge with confidence, initiative and enthusiasm.

In 2011, Pennie spent two weeks at both Wilson Hartnell and The PR Boutique, where she developed a strong interest in all areas of the media and PR.

In her spare time, Pennie enjoys keeping up-to-date with the latest films and tv shows. She loves going to music festivals and is an avid traveler.
