What We’re Working On This Week (+ Chance To Win Concert Tickets!)
DHR News | 21st September 2010

DHR Communications has lots going on over the next few weeks.  We’re currently preparing our autumn 2010 training programme – which will cover training in media skills and political advocacy, specifically formulated for non-profit organisations – and we’ll post full details of the confirmed training schedule shortly.

We’re also busy with the winter round of the Simon Cumbers Media Fund, which was announced in recent weeks.  The Fund – which is administered and promoted by DHR Communications, on behalf of Irish Aid – provides opportunities for Irish media personnel to travel to developing countries to report on development issues.  The deadline for the winter round of the Fund is Friday, 15th October, and the guidelines and application form can be downloaded here.  A workshop for potentially interested applicants took place in Dublin yesterday, and a similar workshop will take place in Limerick this coming Friday, 24th September (full details here).

DHR Communications also has lots going on with The Model, Clúid Housing Association, and Healthy Food for All at the moment: we’re working on launch events with Clúid and Healthy Food for All over the coming weeks, while The Model is a whirlwind of activity right now – launching its autumn / winter programme; hosting activities for Culture Night Sligo, and planning an exciting line-up of musical performances and film screenings over the coming months.

Finally, this weekend will see us at the Dublin International Gospel Music Festival, which DHR Communications is sponsoring along with a number of other organisations.  The Festival is taking place this coming Saturday, 25th September, at The Convention Centre, Spencer Dock, Dublin 1.  Sinead O’Connor has been confirmed as a special guest, and will join some of Ireland’s leading gospel choirs and musicians for the evening-time performances.  Earlier in the day, a series of free workshops will take place, focusing on different aspects of gospel music.
