Behind the Scenes at Samaritans 24/7 Photocall
Samaritans hold a ‘24/7’ campaign on 24th July each year to highlight the fact that the organisation’s volunteers are available to talk 24 hours a day, seve n days a week, every day of the year. This year, the organisation is particularly encouraging men to talk.
Yesterday morning (23.07.2013) DHR’s Ciara and Emily B joined Cork Samaritans volunteer, Majella Canty and well-known men from the worlds of sports, media and entertainment including RTÉ’s ‘SixOne’ news anchor Bryan Dobson; 2FM presenter Paddy McKenna; Eamon Fennell, Dublin footballer and DJ with Phantom 105.2; Newstalk’s ‘Off the Ball’ presenter Ger Gilroy; and John Evoy, Director of the Irish Men’s Sheds Association for the launch.
Tony from Maxwell Photography was our photographer for the morning. Check out his released photos here. Here he is on the steps of Powerscourt before everything got started.
Majella is the Regional Marketing Officer for the Samaritans in Ireland and a volunteer with Cork Samaritans. Here she is chatting with Eamon Fennell, Ger Gilroy and John Evoy following the photocall.
Finally, a big thank you to Pygmalion for lending us the arm chairs (and helping us to carry them), The Shop Garden for happily lending us their front step for half and hour and Powerscourt Towncentre for giving us permission to use the centre.
