What’s been keeping us busy this summer…

Africa Day 2013 and the European Strand of the Global Diaspora Forum kept us busy in DHR throughout May and the rest of the summer promises to be just as busy! The GDF is an annual celebration of diaspora communities held in Washington DC and for the first time, a European strand was organised by Irish International Diaspora Centre (IIDC) Trust under the auspices of our client Dún Laoghaire Harbour Company. Later in May, Africa Day Dublin supported by Irish Aid was the most successful to date with 34,000 people attending the free family event in Farmleigh on Sunday, 26th May. You can watch the Africa Day Dublin video clip here and see can you spot DHR’s Emily, Catherine and Ciara.

The DHR team following Africa Day Dublin 2013

Emma, our fantastic Africa Day intern finished with working with us in early June but we’re delighted to welcome two new account executive interns to the DHR team. Emily Brennan and Julie Kennedy will be joining us until mid July. Read more about Emily here https://www.dhr.ie/people/emily-brennan/ and Julie here http://www.dhr.ie/people/julie-kennedy/.

The rest of June will see DHR Communications busy on a raft of new projects, involving clients in the NGO and statutory sectors. Today, DHR’s Catherine is in Sligo at the showcase of the ‘Creative State North West’ business-support programme while tomorrow we are working with the Digital Hub Development Agency on their 10th anniversary events including a special gathering of ‘Digital Clusters’. This week, we also have the deadline of the Mary Raftery Journalism Fund round on children’s issues.

As always, you can follow us on Twitter and Facebook for daily updates on our work.
