DHR Named National Champion in European Business Awards
We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been named a National Champion in the European Business Awards, a prestigious competition supported by businesses leaders, academics, media and political representatives from across Europe.
The Awards – sponsored by RSM International and now in their eighth year – recognise and reward excellence, best practice and innovation in companies across the EU. The competition engaged with over 24,000 businesses from 33 countries this year, making it Europe’s largest cross-border business recognition scheme.
DHR has been selected as Ireland’s National Champion in the ‘Employer of the Year’ category of the awards, which recognises companies’ efforts to motivate staff by enabling career expansion, operating equal opportunity schemes and promoting a work-life balance.
From the National Champions shortlisted this month, an elite judging panel will select overall winners in February 2015. Previous judging support has been provided by such luminaries as Karel De Gucht, the EU Trade Commissioner; Yves Leterme, former Prime Minister of Belgium; Jose Aznar, former Prime Minister of Spain; and Gilbert Ghostine, Managing Director of Diageo Continental Europe.
Commenting today, Catherine Heaney, founder and Managing Director of DHR, said: “The European Business Awards are widely recognised as the showcase for Europe’s most dynamic companies, so we are delighted to represent Ireland as National Champion in the ‘Employer of the Year’ category. DHR celebrates its 10th anniversary this month, so our success in the competition is timely.
“The guiding principles of the European Business Awards are innovation, ethics and financial success. These three points provide the framework for the judging process, and they are also principles that have underpinned DHR’s development and growth since we were established. Over the past decade, we have expanded our workforce from only three employees to 12; we continue to win new business every year; and we look forward to continued growth in the future.”
Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards, said: “Congratulations to DHR Communications. It is a great achievement to be named National Champion and we wish them luck in the next stage. The European Business Awards is going from strength to strength, inspiring businesses to greater success and helping to improve the competitive edge of companies across Europe.”
Jean Stephens, CEO of RSM International, said: “Every year, this competition gets tougher and more competitive as more companies, of varied sizes and across all sectors, chose to compete in this prestigious competition. With the increased number of entries and countries, this year looks to become the toughest Awards yet. It will be exciting to watch as we move through to the next round.”
