With more than 25 years’ experience in the communications, political and media sectors in Ireland, Catherine Heaney works across all service areas in an advisory capacity.
She particularly enjoys working with clients at a strategic level; generating ideas and solutions; coaching spokespeople; and advising clients on reputational issues. She has strong project management skills, and is very experienced in developing communications strategies.
Catherine chairs a number of public bodies. She is Chairperson of the National Museum of Ireland; chairperson of the Citizens Information Board; and she chairs the Government’s Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility (operated under the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment).
Before setting up DHR Communications, Catherine was Chief Executive of the Irish Family Planning Association and Press Officer for the Labour Party.
Catherine has studied journalism and law at undergraduate levels, and is pursuing a Mphil in cultural heritage. She is a graduate of the prestigious executive programme on strategic communications at Columbia University in New York, on which she has also lectured. She is a member of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the Public Relations Institute of Ireland (PRII).
