As an Account Manager, David O’Donnell works as part of our senior team to develop and execute effective communications and marketing strategies. He has significant experience in reviewing clients’ communication channels, both at the outset of an engagement as well as on an ongoing basis, and in delivering PR, stakeholder engagement and social media campaigns tailored to clients’ needs.
With qualifications in media production, David leads DHR’s in-house delivery of high-end video production for clients. He also advises clients on the use of video in the context of digital communications and on incorporating video as an essential element of all communications strategies. David regularly reviews and develops online and digital communication channels for clients, and advises clients on best approaches to optimising online performance and increasing digital engagement. He also delivers social media and online communications training to clients, and contributes to DHR’s media and presentation skills training.
David has a strong interest in public affairs, and has organised a number of successful Oireachtas briefings and engagements on behalf of clients. He is well versed in the processes and tools required for successful project and event management, marketing, execution and messaging on the same.
Prior to joining DHR Communications, David completed a BA in Creative Digital Media and a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Marketing. He also has a number of years’ management experience in the grocery retail sector, with a key emphasis on the delivery of a high level customer service.
Outside of DHR David sits as the Irish Regional Coordinator on the board of the Oblate Youth Service (OYS), a youth charity that facilitates the travel of sick pilgrims to Lourdes in Southern France.
In his spare time, David enjoys exploring new parts of the world, keeping up to speed with news and current affairs and dreaming of the day when Meath return to All-Ireland glory.
David is a member of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland.
